BioHe is poshrat, half-blood Rroma but unwanted by his father's people.
They do not want him and he does not seek them out; he is already unclean, doing women's work as he plays the cards for money.
He is alone, a clan of one, and he searches for a new family.
Mother left to live in a house on a hill and never travel again. Father, expelled from the clan and rejected by his love, drank himself to the grave. Bastian blames no one, because he knows fate is often cruel.
When he finds Puck he has family once more.
His brother, his lover, his clan and all he has, all he wants.
